Creative Schools

Our in-depth, multi-year partnership programme for schools in Lambeth, Southwark and Tower Hamlets. Creative Schools join us for a three-year period, exploring creative approaches to curriculum teaching, the impact of drama on Primary classrooms through CPD and consultation, and wider creative approaches to learning. Creative Schools culminates in a new school-wide strategy for drama co-designed with the staff team. Alongside this, pupils have opportunities to take part in Research and Development Projects and have opportunities to join us as Creative Associates during their school holidays.

Creative Schools benefit from:

  • Multiple projects led by professional artists and facilitators developing Unicorn productions.
  • A funded theatre ticket for every pupil over the duration of the three year partnership.
  • Free technical production workshops at the theatre for Y5/Y6 pupils
  • CPD sessions delivered by our Primary Drama Consultant
  • A bespoke school drama strategy, co-designed with teachers, to integrate drama within curriculum teaching across Key Stage 1 and 2

“It’s had such a fantastic effect on our teachers and the students. The vision is to keep creativity woven throughout lesson delivery so it’s embedded in our school culture” Senior Leadership Team, Hermitage Primary

"The partnership between Unicorn and Loughborough Primary School has been a transformative journey, particularly in integrating drama into the school's curriculum, an area that teachers initially lacked confidence in. The projects have not only engaged pupils but have also significantly contributed to their personal and creative development. The legacy of this partnership, as encapsulated in the School Strategy for Drama, holds promise for our continued commitment to an arts-rich curriculum”
